Today, March 8 — International Women’s Day — EL VOCERO presents 17 leading professionals from various corporate sectors in Puerto Rico, who have dared to trust their capabilities to achieve full development.

Militza Orama, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at The Condado Collection, began her career in the hospitality industry 29 years ago. She led the sales team for 17 years and has held her current position for the past year and a half. For her, being a woman is not solely defined by gender but encompasses a multitude of roles and responsibilities, ranging from being a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to serving as a homemaker, caregiver, and confidant, among many others. “In my case, balancing and successfully fulfilling each of these roles is one of the greatest challenges. Although I know that many men also face similar responsibilities, women possess a magical power, a blessing that drives us to get up each day and move forward with love and determination. It is true that the task is difficult and demanding, but if it were easy, anyone could do it.”
We asked her how she has managed to elevate The Condado Collection to the next level. “Working in three different hotels has given me a unique perspective on how to attract and delight different types of guests. These three hotels have allowed me to bring these unique experiences to art events, private dinners, and live music performances with great success. Our approach has always been to listen carefully to our guests and exceed their expectations on every visit. It is this attention to detail and commitment to excellence that has allowed us to create unforgettable moments for those who choose us as their destination. We are focused on continuing to innovate and surprise our guests in the future.”
We wanted to know how crucial self-confidence has been in her journey to keep moving forward and evolving. “Confidence in my abilities has been a fundamental pillar in my professional trajectory. Believing in myself and my capabilities has given me the drive to overcome challenges and pursue new opportunities with determination and assurance. Having people who believe in me and motivate me to keep going has been essential to staying focused on my goals and evolving in my career,” Orama added. She expressed gratitude for having had mentors throughout her professional journey.
