Forge Alliance to Promote the Adoption of Rescued Animals

San Juan, Puerto Rico — In an ongoing effort to contribute to environmental protection and improve the lives of homeless animals in Puerto Rico, the Alma de Bahía Foundation has announced a new initiative as part of its alliance with The Condado Collection, which includes the Condado Vanderbilt, La Concha, and Condado Ocean Club hotels. This collaboration highlights the importance of adoption and supports the rescue and rehabilitation of animals through the Foundation’s Sato and Gato Rescue program.

This alliance involves visiting one of the three hotels once a month, offering an opportunity for both guests and employees to get directly involved in animal adoptions. During these visits, the Foundation educates about its role in this process and how it assists guests, in this case, with transporting their new pet off the island, taking care of everything from vaccinations to air transport.

The first visit to The Condado Collection will take place on Friday, September 27 at the Condado Ocean Club Hotel, in the heart of Condado. This event coincides with the celebration of World Tourism Day and seeks to highlight the crucial rescue work carried out by the Alma de Bahía Foundation, as well as the important role The Condado Collection plays in the community by providing the best experiences to the guests who visit them.

“We are thrilled to strengthen this initiative with The Condado Collection in San Juan to jointly address a cause that we are deeply passionate about,” said Marcela Cañón, Executive Director of the Alma de Bahía Foundation. “Through this alliance, we hope not only to find loving homes for many animals but also to educate the public about the importance of rescue, animal care, and responsible adoption. Since 2010, we have carried out this initiative with our friends at St. Regis Bahia Beach and have achieved X adoptions.”

The Alma de Bahía Foundation is strongly committed to rescuing and rehabilitating animals through its Sato and Gato Rescue program. This program has been instrumental in improving the lives of over a thousand animals in Puerto Rico, providing them with veterinary care, socialization, rehabilitation, and finding them permanent homes.

“Supporting initiatives that improve the community is a central pillar of our philosophy at The Condado Collection,” said Betsy Mujica, General Manager of Condado Ocean Club. “We are proud to support the Alma de Bahía Foundation in its efforts to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and promote a culture of adoption in Puerto Rico and with our guests. We recognize that pets are an essential part of society, and through this collaboration, we help strengthen family bonds by facilitating the adoption of these pets who deserve a loving home.”

The Alma de Bahía Foundation and The Condado Collection invite residents and visitors to join them at this meaningful event and actively participate in the animal rescue mission. Those interested in collaborating with this effort alongside the Alma de Bahía Foundation can contact 787-312-6616 or 787-516-6851 to coordinate an event at their organization. Through initiatives like this, Puerto Rico becomes a better place for all its inhabitants, both humans and animals alike.
