Gómez Hermanos Paulson announces its commitment to the San Juan Bay Estuary with a contribution of over $100,000.

As part of the 30th anniversary celebration of the San Juan Bay Estuary, Gómez Hermanos Paulson (GHP), the automotive portfolio of Paulson Puerto Rico led by its president and co-owner, Mr. Víctor Gómez III, proudly announces its commitment to this valuable natural resource. In 2025, GHP will acquire over 5,000 environmental license plates for its dealerships, contributing to the Special Fund for the Conservation of the Estuary. This initiative represents a total contribution of more than $100,000.

“We are proud to lead this initiative as part of our renewed vision and commitment to Puerto Rico. This collaboration with the San Juan Bay Estuary marks a new phase for our company, reaffirming our responsibility to the environment and our community. We invite the entire industry to join this important effort for our country,” said Mr. Víctor Gómez III.

The initiative aligns with the launch of Puerto Rico’s second environmental license plate, promoted by the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTOP) and the San Juan Bay Estuary. In 2009, Law No. 48 established the “Special Fund for the San Juan Bay Estuary,” which allocates proceeds from these plates to the restoration and protection of the estuary, ensuring its long-term sustainability. Each plate costs $30, with $20 directly allocated to the conservation of this essential ecosystem.

“The agreement between Gómez Hermanos Paulson and the Estuary sets a precedent that other private companies should follow,” said Brenda Torres, Executive Director of the San Juan Bay Estuary. “We must recognize that our economic, social, tourism, and recreational investments depend on a strong San Juan metropolitan region. Every action counts, and by acquiring the second edition of the Estuary’s environmental plate in 2025, Gómez Hermanos Paulson is becoming part of the solution. We invite all sectors to follow the example of these business leaders—whom we now call Estuary collaborators—and join the efforts to achieve a metropolitan region free of wastewater discharges, with clean waters and a nationally significant healthy estuarine system,” she added.

Rafael Cedeño Paulson, Executive Vice President of Paulson & Co., commented:
“At Paulson Puerto Rico, we recognize that our responsibility as business leaders goes beyond business itself. This commitment, led by Víctor Gómez III at the helm of GHP, reflects our vision to create a positive impact in Puerto Rico and be allies of the environment.”

With over 70 years of experience, the Gómez family has been a pioneer in Puerto Rico’s automotive industry, representing prestigious and luxury brands. Now, in partnership with the Paulson group, GHP’s portfolio includes brands such as Audi, Bentley, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ferrari, Fiat, Ford, GMC, Hyundai San Juan, Jeep, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Maserati, and Porsche. GHP continues to evolve, investing in a sustainable future for Puerto Rico.
