This partnership supports over 60 talented students from RUM as they embark on the ambitious task of designing and constructing Puerto Rico’s first electric formula-style race car to compete in the prestigious Formula SAE competition, which will take place next year in Michigan, USA. This marks a historic milestone for the students, the university, and Puerto Rico.

– Financial and Educational Commitment: Porsche Center Puerto Rico has provided a significant grant to the team and is offering specialized training to enhance their technical expertise. 

– Hands-On Mentorship: Students are receiving guidance at Porsche Center Puerto Rico’s service workshop from Porsche AG-certified technicians, who are experts in cutting-edge electric vehicle technology.

Lugo, Associate Professor of the RUM Mechanical Engineering Department, whose extensive experience includes leading the development of multiple combustion-engine vehicles for past Formula SAE competitions.
