The wait is over! Saborea Puerto Rico: A Culinary Extravaganza is back with its star satellite events, including La Cena Privilegiada, which this year becomes a historic event by bringing together 22 women chefs who are at the forefront of the culinary scene in Puerto Rico for a grand dinner. This gastronomic gathering is organized by the Puerto Rico Hotel and Tourism Association, also the driving force behind Saborea.
La Cena Privilegiada—sponsored by EL VOCERO of Puerto Rico since its inception in 2012, just like Saborea since 2008—will take place in the perfect setting of the Caribe Hilton hotel’s banquet hall in San Juan on May 30 at 6:00 PM.
In addition to being a historic gathering of women chefs, the event is undoubtedly a gastronomic appointment that no foodie should miss. The proceeds from this dinner—like all Saborea Puerto Rico events since their inception—will be dedicated to creating workshops and scholarships for continuing education for hospitality industry professionals on the island.
The dynamic of the historic dinner involves each of the 21 participating chefs being in charge of an imperial table capable of seating 10 to 12 guests, right in front of them. The host chef will prepare the meal before her guests’ eyes, accompanied by their respective sous chefs, and will personally serve each dish, contributing to the intimate and exclusive atmosphere that has characterized previous dinners.
On this occasion, each chef will prepare two appetizers and a main course, paired with wines served by La Bodega de Méndez, a sponsor of the event since its creation in 2012. Each wine served will be meticulously selected by female sommeliers according to the flavor attributes and ingredients in the dishes served.
Without a doubt, La Cena Privilegiada is a unique culinary event that offers an excellent opportunity to savor the diversity and quality of Puerto Rican cuisine while interacting with the chefs and learning more about their culinary art.
