The elegance and performance that distinguish the Porsche Panamera have reached a new level with the third generation of the iconic luxury German sports sedan, which has been available in Puerto Rico since this week.

Orlando Pérez, General Manager of Porsche Center Puerto Rico, noted that the model will be available with a 2.9-liter turbo V6 engine capable of producing nearly 353 horsepower while designed to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.1 seconds.

The executive stated that the new Panamera will also be available in the Turbo E-Hybrid version.

“Something very important in this new car is comfort. Not only in the interior but also in handling. With the new suspension, the way the car controls different movements, the driver can enjoy not just a ride but also some fun in the curves and with the acceleration,” Pérez expressed in an interview with El Nuevo Día.

The exterior and interior of the Panamera are distinguished by the addition of elegant lines in the design, combined with sporty details. Customers will be able to choose exclusive colors like Montego Blue Metallic and Madeira Gold Metallic.

The interior was also redesigned to focus on the driver, enhancing technological interaction through the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system.

Pérez clarified that the gasoline model is already available, with a starting selling price of around $139,000. Meanwhile, the starting selling price of the hybrid model will be around $119,000.

Regarding the type of customer Porsche aims to appeal to with this vehicle, the executive indicated that they are targeting young professionals with families who are looking for a comfortable yet sporty car.

“The car has been gaining new customers who remain with the brand through various changes in their personal and professional lives. It has gained more ground within the same clients and the Porsche community,” Pérez stated.

With the arrival of the third generation of the Panamera, Porsche Center Puerto Rico—one of the dealerships owned by businessman John Paulson in Puerto Rico—hopes to consolidate its growth.

In 2023, the brand closed with over 395 units sold, marking a milestone. “We foresee having a very good year and surpassing the sales we recorded last year,” Pérez noted.

According to the executive, the brand has consolidated its presence on the island due to the offering of its new models and the level of recognition that Porsche has gained in the market.

“The Porsche community has grown in Puerto Rico. Definitely, it is a status. Driving a Porsche is a community for every day, not just for weekends,” he added.

Pérez assured that the brand has greater growth opportunities on the island. When asked about plans for opening a second dealership in the area, which would be located in Ponce, the executive confirmed they are close to signing the contract for the location from which they will operate in the southern region.

“The customer in the southern or southwestern area, who cannot come to San Juan every day, will see me as an alternative when we are in Ponce,” Pérez considered.
