Rolando E. Padua Meléndez brings a wealth of experience and an unwavering commitment to Puerto Rico’s potential as a premier destination for business and investment. Born in Villalba, Puerto Rico, Padua has an impressive track record in the public sector and private sector, a passion for aviation, and a deep dedication to his community.
Padua’s journey began in a military family, frequently moving and living in various states such as Texas, Virginia, and Florida during his formative years. As a teenager, his passion for aviation took flight when he attended the Aviation Academy at Denbigh High School, a nationally recognized STEM institute specializing in piloting, aircraft maintenance, engineering, safety, and security. At age 15, together with other young partners, he founded his first company, Aero PC Repair, a non-for-profit company dedicated to refurbishing computers and making them accessible to people in need.
Padua returned to Puerto Rico to pursue a degree in Political Science and Law at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus, eventually earning his Juris Doctor. This led to a career in public service, where he held key roles such as Deputy Secretary of State, Deputy Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Aviation Director of the Ports Authority, and Advisor to the Governor.
Padua later transitioned into consulting within the export services industry. Through this work, he connected with Paulson Puerto Rico, eventually joining the Company and rising to become the CEO of Bahia Beach Resort & Golf Club, for the past 7 years.
In March 2023, Padua was appointed President of Paulson Puerto Rico. Leveraging his extensive public sector experience and passion for economic development, he is uniquely positioned to navigate challenges and seize opportunities for growth.
Under Padua’s leadership, Paulson Puerto Rico is poised to continue its trajectory of success and prosperity on the island. As a proud native of Puerto Rico, his deep connection to its people and culture drives his commitment to fostering lasting, positive change in the community and sustainable growth for the island.
